Request a Grant Writer

Grants ranging from $10,000 to $60,000 to Washington State non-profits or government entities to improve and prevent the degradation of water quality of Elliot Bay or the Puget Sound watershed. Projects may involve: water quality data collection; low-impact development and stormwater pollution management; water quality-related policy development and public outreach; shoreline ecology and riparian zone restoration; or other environmental stewardship projects.

Priority is given to organizations that have successfully conducted similar or related projects in the past.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The applicant must be a 501(c)(3) non-profit, or fiscally sponsored by a 501(c)(3) non-profit; or a governmental or tribal entity.

Not Funded:
-Endowment, land acquisition, capital improvement or other similar projects (unless the proposed project directly improves water quality)
-Individuals
-For-profit businesses
-General operating support
-Grants for projects that are not Puget Sound-related

The funding board usually meets 6 - 7 weeks after the application deadline. Notices of the funding decisions are sent within a week of the board meeting. If your application is successful, you will have a check in hand 6 to 8 weeks after the deadline date.
