Request a Grant Writer

Grants of up to $1,000 to North Carolina nonprofits for arts projects that benefit the community in eligible regions. Funding is intended for projects that address community needs, include ethnically varied participants, and have programmatic and artistic merit. Priority will be given to projects by culturally diverse artists. Grants are meant to ensure that the arts are accessible to everyone in the High Point community.

Eligible Arts Projects:

  • Arts Education (increasing knowledge and skills in the arts)
  • Arts in Education (using the arts to teach non-arts subjects)

Applications for Community Arts Projects are evaluated based on:

  • Artistic and programmatic merit
  • Benefit to audiences/participants
  • Responsiveness to community needs
  • Involvement of racially and culturally diverse participants as appropriate to the project
  • Requests which hire culturally diverse artists will be given stronger consideration.
  • Organizational strength of the nonprofit applying for the grant

Estimated Size of Grant:

Generally, grants are for $1,000 or below.

Term of Contract:

The project must be completed prior to June 1, 2020 and must be matched dollar for dollar.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Nonprofit organizations are eligible to apply.
Organizations that receive local government funding (city or county) are not eligible to apply.
