Grant Description
Grants to Alberta registered nonprofit societies for capital projects to benefit the community in eligible locations. Funding is intended to offset or cover costs related to the enhancement and preservation of community facilities. Eligible applicants provide community-based programs and services to residents in Edmonton.

Community League Infrastructure Program (CLIP) grant priorities in 2024 will be focused on rehabilitation and renovation projects that do one or more of the following:

  • Address issues identified in a facility assessment (Stantec or other assessment)
  • Address health, safety, and accessibility concerns
  • Are a collaboration/partnership between leagues
  • Provide an amenity that is lacking in the neighborhood, district, and ward, and has been identified as a community need
  • Address climate resilience through energy efficiency upgrades.

CLIP has three funding streams:

  • Project Planning Grant Program: The Project Planning stream will assist community leagues with costs associated with planning intermediate and/or extensive projects and the completion of concept studies to assist community leagues in determining the scope and scale of future projects.
  • Standard Project Grant Program: Community Leagues that are undertaking an infrastructure project that will not be completed by the grant submission date can apply for a Standard Project Grant.
  • Completed Project Grant Program: Community Leagues that have completed their projects before the grant submission date can submit their Final Project Report along with their application. This does not guarantee grant approval but will expedite the funding disbursement.

For more information on each grant program, see the Full Grant Text RFP.
