Grants to Rhode Island nonprofit organizations serving eligible communities for general operating support. Funding is intended to assist organizations that assist local residents, particularly those with a history of addressing systemic barriers for BIPOC populations. Eligible applicants work in Olneyville and/or serve Olneyville residents.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Up to $20,000 for General Operating Support grants

Term of Contract:

Funding must be utilized between July 1st, 2022 and June 30th, 2023.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Organizations are invited to apply if they:
- Have a letter of determination of 501(c)[3] status from the IRS or have a fiscal agent that has 501(c)[3] status;
- Are located in the Olneyville Community; and/or propose a project/program that specifically serves the Olneyville Community.

Organizations that meet the criteria above and have received funding from the 2021-2023 Community Impact Fund will be allowed to apply for this opportunity, although priority may be given to organizations/programs that are not currently being funded by United Way of Rhode Island.

Pre-proposal Conference:

United Way of Rhode Island staff will hold two 60-minute information sessions on Wednesday, May 4th at 4:00 PM and Thursday, May 5th at 10:00 AM. The information sessions will provide an overview of the Olneyville Community Fund grant opportunity, a walk through of the grant application platform, what to expect with respect to evaluation and learning, and an overview of the application process and anticipated timeline. In addition to the information sessions, staff will hold virtual office hours via Zoom at the following times:
• Monday, May 9th at 10:00 AM
• Thursday, May 13th at 11:00 AM
• Wednesday, May 18th at 2:00 PM
There will be no formal presentation during these times. Staff will be available to answer questions about application content, the platform, or process. Each session will be split between group discussion of questions, and one-on-one discussions as needed. Pre-Application Information:

Applicants will submit a grant proposal due on May 20, 2022 at 11:59 PM.

United Way of Rhode Island will notify applicants of funding decisions in mid-June 2022. Funding for approved applicants will commence by July 1st, 2022.
