Grants ranging between $250 and $3,000 to Santa Cruz County, California non-profits, individuals, students, teachers and groups for capital improvements, including repairs and tangible equipment, to support and strengthen organizations, services and projects that benefit the community. Funds are intended for projects that specifically benefit the residents of the San Lorenzo Valley, which includes the villages of Ben Lomond, Felton, Brookdale and Boulder Creek.
The Grant Program will give highest priority to capital improvements for projects that:
-Directly address environmental, educational, or social issues that affect the health and welfare of San Lorenzo Valley residents.
-Demonstrate the greatest impact, benefit and yield to the mission of the Grant Program.
-Provide the greatest benefit to residents of the San Lorenzo Valley.
-Demonstrate the potential for achieving the highest value with respect to the public interest and/or best utilization of grant funds.
-Demonstrate future and/or long-term benefits.
The Grant Program will not award grants for the following:
-Operating expenses, training programs, salaries
-Endowments, building campaigns, annual fund appeals or fund raising events
-Religious organizations for religious purposes
-Existing obligations, debt retirement, deficits or retroactive funding
-Political or lobbying activities
-Hiring grant proposal writers
