Grants typically ranging from $10,000 to $25,000 to USA non-profit organizations for charitable activities, with an emphasis on on hospitals, medical research, education, youth agencies, cultural activities, and programs addressing the needs of minorities. Applicants are encouraged to contact Foundation staff prior to submitting an application.

Most grants will be awarded in the New England region. Requests are considered for project, capital, and general operations support.

Most grants fall within the range of $10,000 - $25,000, with an average grant of $15,000.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Organizations funded by the Edwin S. Webster Foundation must be tax exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and not a private foundation within the meaning of section 509(a) of the Code.

Generally, the foundation confines its grants primarily to the New England area.

No grants are made outside the United States, or to individuals.

Pre-Application Information:

While this is not an “invitation only” grants program, the trustees do tend to have a personal knowledge of their grantees. Feel free to call the Foundation office about your request. But unless you have strong support from one of the trustees, you are advised to seek funding from other sources.

As the November 1 deadline falls on a weekend, the date is extended to the next regular working day. It is advisable to contact the foundation office before submitting an application.

Applications sent by mail should conform generally to the AGM common proposal form (see for downloadable Word and Excel templates from Associated Grant Makers).
