Grants of exercise equipment are available to New Mexico public elementary and middle schools serving low-income students. The award is comprised of strength training equipment, cardiovascular fitness equipment and interactive exercise games. The grant will include the design, delivery and installation of the equipment within the school's existing structure.

Priority will be given to applicant schools determined to have a significant low-income population demonstrated by a high percentage of students eligible to participate in free and reduced-price meal programs. Strong candidates will demonstrate a robust plan for using the equipment in building and improving their physical education and academic programs.
