Grants to Steuben County, Indiana nonprofit organizations for projects and programs in Healthcare, Education, the Arts and Environment, and Human Services. Priority is given to ideas that offer new understanding of local needs and goals, with proposals that offer long-term solutions.

Categories Include:

- Arts & Culture
- Education
- Health
- Environment
- Human Services
- Recreation
- Community Development

These are guidelines; proposals are not limited to these areas, and grant seekers are encouraged to respond to emerging community needs.

The Steuben County Community Foundation encourages projects that:

- Address priority community concerns
- Encourage more effective use of community resources
- Test or demonstrate new approaches and techniques in the solution of community problems
- Are intended to strengthen the management capabilities of agencies
- Promote volunteer participation

Each proposal is evaluated on its potential value to Steuben County; the amount of planning, vision and collaboration expressed in the application; and the planned measure of outcomes.

The Foundation places a low priority on projects where they will be the sole funder.
