Awards of $1,000 to Georgia public and private Grade 1 - 12 teachers to recognize exceptional STEM projects. This award is intended to recognize an individual or a group of at least two teachers that taught STEM subjects and exposed students to STEM careers through a collaborative project. Nominators must provide a 3-minute video or 5-10 slide PowerPoint Presentation with photos that include each classroom on the team.

Number of Grants:

Three awards will be given: one for 1st -5th grade individuals or teams, one for 6th -8th grade teams, and one for 9th -12th grade teams.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Award will be in the form of a cash prize of $1,000 shared by members of each winning team.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Teams must be 1st-12th grade teachers:
- Elementary school teacher or teaching team
- Middle and high school teams: 2 + teachers (may include elective teachers, language arts, and social studies but the team must include math and science).

Teams must be from a Georgia School District; public or private.

Pre-Application Information:

Application deadline is on or before June 2, 2018.

The winners will be announced in August 2018 during the Georgia NASA STEM Conference. At least one team member must be in attendance to receive award plaque and check.

Teacher teams can nominate themselves, however, they must include a letter of support/reference information from a principal or supervisor.

Houston County applicants will also be considered for the Air Force Association Chapter Teacher of the Year program.
