Grants to North Carolina nonprofit organizations, schools, government agencies, and congregations for projects that improve the lives of residents in eligible locations. Priority will be given to requests for programs and projects in the areas of education and human services. Funded projects must serve the residents of Cleveland County.

The mission of the Cleveland County Community Foundation is to inspire philanthropy and strengthen our community by supporting initiatives that address local needs and providing quality services to donors and constituents.

The Foundation’s Board of Advisors supports this mission through an annual competitive grantmaking program. The Foundation is an investor in the community and is interested in creating the highest possible levels of community gain, focused on improving the lives of citizens in Cleveland County, North Carolina.

Priority will be given to requests for projects and programs that address the following investment areas:

  • Human Services
    • Providing food, shelter, or other relief to address immediate needs and stabilize crisis situations
    • Helping families achieve financial stability
    • Helping individuals overcome life obstacles and become productive members of society
  • Education
    • Financial literacy for adults and youth
    • Youth mentoring
    • Character development programs

The Foundation will also consider requests which fall outside of these investment areas. Priority will be given to proposals requesting one-time funding to initiate projects and programs and the Foundation will consider requests enabling the grantee to seek grant support from other funders.

Projects and programs which clearly demonstrate their ability to attain measurable results will receive higher consideration.
