Awards of $1,000 to Minnesota K-12 teachers to recognize excellence in science education. The award acknowledges outstanding achievements in teaching and provides funding for classroom activities. Two science teachers - one at elementary school level and one at secondary school level - will be recognized. Candidates may nominate themselves.

Each awardee will receive formal recognition, a plaque, and a fund of $1,000

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Eligible nominees are those who:
- Teach science at the K-12 public or private school in Minnesota
- Hold a Minnesota license in the area they teach
- Are a full-time employee of the district or school and teach K-12 students at least 50% of the time
- Have at least 3 years of full-time teaching experience prior to the current school year.

The deadline for nominations is September 23, 2019.

Awardees will be recognized at the MnSTA Conference on Science Education in St. Cloud on November 8, 2019.
