Award to a Canada group of post-secondary educators to recognize outstanding collaboration in teaching. Funding is intended to laud the efforts of a group working together on a teaching project for maximum impact on student learning. Tangible evidence of the group's accomplishments should be submitted with the application.

Recipients of the Alan Blizzard Award will present their project as a concurrent session or poster during the upcoming STLHE Annual Conference.

Each member of the team will be recognized at the Conference Awards Ceremony and receive a certificate in recognition of their significant collaborative contributions to teaching and learning.

$3,500 in funding will be awarded to assist members or a representative of the team with travel and other expenses associated with attending the annual STLHE Conference.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The Award is open to groups of two or more individuals, at least one of whom must be currently teaching, regardless of discipline or level of appointment, and is a member of a Canadian post-secondary institution (i.e., colleges, c├ęgeps, polytechnics and/or universities). A course team; a department; a teaching and learning center; a committee of colleagues from different departments, faculties, or institutions (or some combination thereof), who are working together on a common teaching project, are invited to apply.

Pre-Application Information:

The completed application and supporting documentation should be submitted in a single PDF file, on or before the deadline, through the STLHE deposit system by 15 February 2019.

This is a biennial award.

Award recipients are strongly encouraged to submit a paper about their collaborative project to CELT (Collected Essays on Learning and Teaching).
