Grants of up to $4,000 to Orangeburg and Calhoun Counties, South Carolina non-profits, public entities or other charitable, educational or faith‐based organizations that are working to improve quality of life for local residents. The Foundation is particularly interested in supporting projects that are innovative and create impact in community literacy. This includes projects that lead to proficiency in reading and writing as well as the application of these skills within a variety of disciplines or contexts.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Up to $4,000.

Term of Contract:

Programs should begin in January and be completed within the year, including the evaluation.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

-Organizations that have been determined as charitable under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, public entities or other charitable, educational or faith‐based organizations may apply.
-Organizations must provide services in Orangeburg and/or Calhoun Counties.

Not Funded:
-Routine operating expenses of the organization
-Fundraising projects  
-Debt reduction  
-Endowment development or capital campaigns  
-Medical research
-Conference travel, underwriting or sponsorship  
-Sponsorships

Pre-Application Information:

The completed application packet must be submitted together and be in the Foundation office by the deadline. Since the September 7 deadline falls on a weekend, applications will be due on the next business day.
