Grants of up to $5,000 to Pennsylvania nonprofits in Cambria, Cameron, Centre, Clarion, Clearfield, Clinton, Elk, Forest, Indiana, Jefferson, Lycoming, McKean, Potter, Tioga, and Warren Counties to preserve the heritage of local communities. Applicants should contact foundation staff before submitting an application.
Funding is designated for partnerships that conserve resources, tell the stories and enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors alike.
Applications will be considered for:
1. Projects that implement recommendations from the LHR Management Action Plan or the LHR Interpretive Plan available for review at http://www.lumberheritage.org. Examples include trail construction, signage, interpretive/educational exhibits and materials, conservation and heritage preservation projects.
2. Projects that will “flesh out” proposed driving tour itineraries related to Lumber History; the Civilian Conservation Corps; The West Branch Water Trail and/or associated River Towns; and Local Museums.
3. Projects that will complete elements from existing plans including but not limited to trail, watershed, greenway, and heritage community plans.
4. Projects that will “complete” a cultural or heritage asset or destination.
