Funding is intended to support initiatives that build community through advocacy, public engagement, or direct services. Preference will be given to programs that have a direct impact on Raleigh residents.

The Beehive Collective is particularly interested in projects or programs that are innovative, measurable, and sustainable; grassroots and community-led; incorporate policy and/or systems change; forge partnerships with other groups working towards similar goals; equip communities with the tools or resources they need to advocate for themselves; or provide or work towards a more fair, equitable, and just community.

The Beehive Collective views environmental justice as the fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people regardless of race, gender, national origin, ability, or income with respect to the development, implementation, and enforcement of environmental laws, regulations, and policies. An ideal application will request funding for a project that addresses the following:

Justice for All

  • Ensures equitable treatment for individuals and groups and that no one
  • benefits to the detriment of others; fair and equitable access to resources.
  • Demands that all people have equitable access to political and economic power and resources
