Grants to USA Native American organizations and Oregon local governments and charitable organizations in eligible counties for programs that benefit Native American communities. Funding is provided for programs in the areas of alcohol and drug treatment, cultural activities, the arts, education, environment and natural resource preservation, gambling addiction, health, historic preservation, housing, prevention, and public safety. Eligible Oregon local governments and charitable organizations are located in Benton, Clackamas, Lane, Lincoln, Linn, Marion, Multnomah, Polk, Tillamook, Washington, and Yamhill counties.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Grant awards have ranged from $145.00 up to $250,000. Generally, the average for awards is $5,000-6,500. There has been no minimum or maximum established.

Term of Contract:

For services happening after the 2/5/2021 distribution date.

All awarded funds must be spent within one year of the receipt date.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for the Siletz Tribal Charitable Contribution Fund:
1. Your organization's project/event/activity must be located within at least one of the eleven counties recognized as the Siletz Tribe's service area including Lincoln, Tillamook, Linn, Lane, Benton, Polk, Yamhill, Marion, Multnomah, Washington, and Clackamas counties; or
2. Your organization/event/activity must be provided for at least 51% Native American participants located anywhere within the United States.

Organizations are not required to provide any State or IRS documentation.

Charitable Contributions are awarded to charitable organizations or local governments within the Siletz Tribe’s service area and/or Native American entities or activities located anywhere in the United States.

Native Organizations located throughout the United States outside the designated Oregon counties are also eligible to apply for funding if they are providing services or activities to a population with more than 50% Native American participation.

Individuals are not eligible to apply for funding. Documentation of nonprofit status is not required to be considered for a STCCF grant.

Expenditures such as operating expenses (salaries, benefits, administrative expenses, membership dues, etc.) are generally not considered for STCCF funding.

The deadline is firm and final. The preferred method of submission is by email attachment. Hand delivery, postal mail, UPS, FedEX submissions are also acceptable. The application must be received no later than the due date before 4:30 pm. Postmarked and later applications will not be accepted.

Early submission is recommended. When possible, submit 1-2 weeks prior to the deadline to allow time for basic screening and resubmission of corrected applications where required. Assistance will be provided as appropriate.

Eligible applications MUST have a project start date that occurs after the award distribution date for that quarter.

Applicants are notified within 3-5 days of receipt of applications.

The Advisory Board and Tribal Council review process usually takes 30 days.

Most successful applications demonstrate a 50-50 ratio of secured funds to the amount requested. Matching funds may include cash, in-kind or future fundraising.
