Grant Description

Previous Page Version

Grants of up to $5,000 to Ohio nonprofit organizations, schools, and churches to enhance the lives of local women in eligible locations. First-time applicants are required to interview with the Foundation prior to submitting an application. The Fund's 2022 funding priority is childcare. Funding is intended to benefit women in Ashland County.

Women’s Fund Grants are targeted toward supporting and empowering women. This year’s grants will be made solely in the area of childcare.

What the Foundation is looking for:

  1. The Foundation is focused on addressing and meeting current needs to help women access affordable, quality childcare. Identified needs include:
    • Affordability
    • Accessibility beyond the hours of 6:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday-Friday
    • Increased toddler and infant care options
    • Safe spaces/accreditation/licensing
    • Grant requests that address one or more of the above-identified needs are encouraged.
  2. Grant requests should be aimed at launching new childcare initiatives, or expanding upon or strengthening current childcare offerings.
  3. The Foundation anticipates funding programs that are expected to continue into the future (as opposed to one-time/one-year projects). Second-year grants may be considered to provide for sustainability.

Grant support is provided for: project grants, program development, seed money, equipment, capital building projects, matching/challenge grants, operating support due to program expansion.
