Grants to greater Houston area, Texas nonprofits for programs to support services in the areas of basic needs, the prevention of abuse or neglect of children, children's and women's healthcare, and children's education. Part one of the application is due June 29, 2018. Eligible counties include Harris, Brazoria, Fort Bend and Waller.
Requests that address a critical or basic need, fund a pilot program, and/or expand a significant service to the community are considered.

-The requesting organization must be tax-exempt. Requests must be accompanied by a copy of the
tax exemption letter from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and evidence as to the
organization’s qualification as a public charity organization as defined in section 509(a)(1), (2) or
(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The requesting organization must be registered as a 501(c)(3)
-Limited to Nonprofit organizations in Harris County, Brazoria County, Fort Bend County and Waller County, Texas.
-An organization may receive a Community Assistance grant only once every three years.
-A Community Assistance Committee member and/or spouse may not be serving on the board of directors or advisory board of an organization requesting community assistance funding. Withdrawing from the evaluation does not eliminate the conflict of interest created by serving on the organization’s board of directors.
-Funds may be granted only to organizations with no League volunteer involvement.
Requests for reimbursement will not be considered.
Requests for items or services that directly or indirectly assist or implement fundraising activities of the organization will not be considered.
Requests for unrestricted funds for capital campaigns will not be considered.
Each request must be completed using the online application forms. The form will consist of two parts. Part One includes a summary of information regarding your organization and the request, and Part Two requests financial data which can be uploaded electronically.
Part One must be completed and electronically submitted online by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, June 29, 2018. A link to Part Two of the application will be provided upon submission of Part One; Part Two of the application must be completed and electronically submitted no later than 11:59 p.m. on Friday, July 13, 2018.
No mailed, faxed, hand-delivered or emailed applications will be accepted.
