Van GO Grant

Community Transit

Agency: Foundation

GrantWatch ID #146672

Grant Description

In-kind grants of vehicle donations to Washington nonprofit organizations to provide improved transportation services to residents in need, including senior citizens, the disabled, and youth. Eligible vehicles are 15-passenger vans, which can be used by residents of Snohomish County.

Vehicle Descriptions: Vehicles that are earmarked for surplus auction will instead be granted to nonprofit agencies. Usually, retired Community Transit vans sold at auction, net a few thousand dollars each for the agency. By granting some of these surplus vehicles to community groups, they can continue to provide many times that value in transportation services.
