Grants to Hartford Area, Connecticut nonprofit organizations to support and promote cultural, educational, human services, health, religious, and arts programs for underserved populations. Funding is intended for activities that will take place primarily in Hartford and the contiguous neighboring communities.

Term of Contract:

Grants from the Ensworth Charitable Foundation are primarily 1 year in duration. On occasion, multi-year support is awarded. Applicants will not be awarded a grant for more than 3 consecutive years.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Nonprofits serving Hartford and its surrounding communities are eligible.

Endowment campaigns are not supported. The Foundation does not provide support for start-up nonprofits or programs that are not yet established.

Pre-Application Information:

The Ensworth Charitable Foundation application deadline is January 15. Please submit online applications by 11:59 p.m. on the day of the foundation’s deadline date. If the deadline falls on a weekend or a federally recognized holiday, applications are due on the next business day by 11:59 p.m.

Applicants will be notified of grant decisions by letter within 3 to 4 months after the deadline.
