Grants typically ranging from $3,000 to $10,000 to Texas nonprofit organizations for a broad range of charitable activities in the focus areas of arts, education, human services, and prevention of cruelty to animals. Special emphasis is placed on fine arts, the performing arts, and education; however, funding will also be distributed across a broad range of general charitable programs, including religious, scientific, literary or educational purposes or for the prevention of cruelty to children or animals. Grants may also be awarded to support sports competitions.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Distributions will be made exclusively to Texas 501(c)(3) charities.

Only amateur sports organizations as defined in section 501(j) of the Internal Revenue Code may request support for equipment or facilities.

Decisions will be made within 3 - 4 months after the application deadline.

Eligibility to re-apply for a grant award from the David and Betty Sacks Foundation requires organizations to skip 1 grant cycle (1 year) before submitting a subsequent application. For example, if your organization submitted a grant application for the February 2017 deadline and received a grant award in June, your organization would not be eligible to re-apply until February of 2019.
