Description:

Request a Grant Writer

Grants to Santa Barbara County, California PreK-12 public school teachers and non-management employees to share their personally developed education approach to a team of peer teachers. Funding is intended to support teachers who have developed effective and successful methods of teaching and who are able and willing to teach their strategies to other "teams" of teachers. Special consideration will be given to strategies involving the Common Core State Standards.

The grant consists of two components: the Team Coach and Team Members. The Team Coach is a teacher who has personally developed an original, successful instructional strategy and is willing to share the strategy with a team of teacher peers. Team Members are teachers who wish to learn a new instructional strategy by observing and collaborating with a Team Coach.

Teams will meet for a minimum of three, one-hour sessions over a period of several months.  Meetings are scheduled by the Team Coach (i.e., the grantee teacher). Team Coaches will work to coordinate times and locations of meetings that best suits their individual team’s needs.
