United Way of Allen County - Women United
Grants ranging from $500 to $4,000 to Allen County, Indiana childcare providers to improve the quality level of the early childhood care and education they provide. Funding will help grant recipients progress to higher levels on a statewide rating scale that measures health, safety, child development, and school readiness.
Paths to QUALITY Levels
- Level One: Health and safety needs of children met.
- Level Two: Environment supports children’s learning.
- Level Three: Planned curriculum guides child development and school readiness.
- Level Four: National accreditation (the highest indicator of quality) is achieved.

Grants of $500 - $4,000 will be awarded. (Grant distribution is based on number of grants awarded.)
If awarded, grant money must be spent by 5pm on April 20, 2018. A written request for an extension will be considered by the committee in certain situations.
Qualifying childcare providers in Allen County, Indiana are eligible to apply.
ALL zip code areas in Allen County will be considered, with special consideration given to grant requests from the following zip codes: 46802, 46803, 46815, 46816, 46825, and 46774.
Deadline for application submission: December 15, 2017.
If you are NOT currently on PTQ but are beginning the process, you may still apply. Please attach a VCP – Voluntary Certification Program checklist to your application signed by your ECA coach or home licensing checklist signed by your ECA coach.
It is strongly suggested that you work with a coach from Early Childhood Alliance or Indiana AEYC to complete your application and choose your needed materials.
