Grant Description
Grants to Texas nonprofit and for-profit food service entities, food-focused organizations, and individuals for projects that benefit the community. Funding is intended to support innovative culinary projects. Eligible applicants include food and beverage artisan producers, chefs/culinary professionals, farmers, wine-, beer- and spirit-makers, culinary businesses, and food-focused nonprofits. Applicants must be located in the Austin, Dallas, Houston, or San Antonio areas.

2022 Special Grants

The special grants are “named” grants which have specific qualifications such as project focused on sustainability, women-led initiatives, or mobile businesses. Information about city-specific special grants can be found on the 2022 TFWA Special Grants document below.

Grants are awarded in separate categories for nonprofit and business.

Additional Eligibility Criteria
Grant recipients must meet the following criteria:
● Must be a food and beverage artisan, producer, or culinary professional or represent a culinary/foodfocused nonprofit serving the Austin, Dallas, Houston, or San Antonio Communities.
● Must be located within the following counties:
o Austin Food & Wine Alliance Grants: Bastrop, Blanco, Burleson, Burnet, Caldwell, Gillespie, Grimes, Hays, Kerr, Lampasas, Lee, Llano, Mason, Travis, or Williamson
o Dallas Food & Wine Alliance Grants: Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Hunt, Kaufman, or Rockwall
o Houston Food & Wine Alliance Grants: Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Liberty, Montgomery, or Waller
o San Antonio Food & Wine Alliance Grants: Atascosa, Bandera, Bexar, Comal, Guadalupe, Kendall, Medina, and Wilson
● Must demonstrate how the grant will be used for culinary innovation in their respective fields (including wine, beer, spirits, and food industry)
● Must demonstrate community giveback and/or support the initiative will have on the community
● Represent fiduciary responsibility and transparency
● Must follow the reporting and accountability guidelines
● Agree to participate in PR initiatives to promote TFWA and grant program, if asked
● Agree to TFWA website presence and mutual promotion of TFWA and grant program
● Must provide three written reference letters written and dated in 2021 as to why organization or individual should receive an TFWA grant and detail the reference’s relationships with the organization and/or individual

Pre-Application Information
Grant Applications will be available beginning Saturday, October 1, 2022 through Sunday, October 23, 2022. All applications must be digitally received by midnight, October 23, 2022.

Recipients and non-recipients will be notified no later than Tuesday, January 3, 2023. Grants will be awarded at a ceremony on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at the Holdsworth Center in Austin.
