Grants to Houston area, Texas nonprofit organizations and government entities for conservation, civic improvement, and educational programs that promote an appreciation of gardening and work to preserve the environment. Funding is intended to foster a love for and knowledge of gardening in the community, and to restore, improve, and protect the quality of the environment through programs and actions.

Examples of past projects include creation and preservation of landscapes (public gardens, parks, arboreta, nature centers and roadsides), educational publications and events, scholarships and contributions to library collections.

Term of Contract:

One year.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Grants are made only to 501(c)(3) organizations or government entities.

Priority is given to organizations in the Houston area.

Grants are not made to operating funds or endowments.

Pre-Application Information:

No grant requests will be accepted after 5:00 p.m. on Monday, October 15, 2019.

The Garden Club of Houston does not have an application form; all requests should be submitted electronically.

A response letter will be sent to all applicants no later than May 31, 2020.
