Request a Grant Writer

Awards of up to $500 to USA and international individuals to recognize outstanding marketing education, demonstrated by a history of effective teaching and
an innovative approach to the classroom. Up to ten people will be identified as recipients and will be invited to make a 15-20 minute presentation or mini-teaching demonstration to attendees and the judges of the funding source's annual conference in Chicago.

The 2015 Hormel Master Teacher will be awarded a $500 cash prize.

Pre-Application Information:

Based on the written submissions, up to 10 people will be identified as recipients of the Hormel Meritorious Teaching Awards and will be so recognized in the MMA Spring Conference program.

The top three will become finalists and will be presented with a Hormel Teaching Excellence Award at the conference. Each of these three finalists will make a 15-20 minute presentation of their submission material to attendees and the judges.

One of these three finalists will be selected as the Hormel Master Teacher recognized at the MMA Spring Conference Awards Brunch.

Electronic submissions (limited to nine pages) should be sent to the Competition Coordinator, Lyle R. Wetsch at MasterTeacher@mmaglobal.org.

Submissions should include the following:

1) Letter of application (3 pages max) noting:
-Places and dates served and serving as a marketing teacher
-List of marketing courses taught
-Supporting evidence of teaching excellence, honors, and/or student assessment results
-Contact information (phone numbers, mail, & e-mail addresses)

2) Condensed curriculum vitae (3 pages max)

3) Summary of successful teaching activity(s), practice(s), or strategy(s) employed (3 pages max)

This annual competition is held concurrently with the MMA Spring Conference, held in Chicago from March 25 - 27, 2015.
