Awards to Bernards Township, New Jersey individuals and organizations for demonstrating exemplary leadership in and dedication to the fine and performing arts. Nominations are accepted for artists, professionals, educators, volunteers, non-profits, corporations, businesses, schools, and students. Nominations will be considered in the following categories:

1) Individual - Presented to an outstanding individual dedicated to supporting the arts in Bernards Township. Nominee may be an artist, professional, educator, or community volunteer.

2) Organization - Presented to an outstanding organization dedicated to supporting the arts in Bernards Township. Nominee may be a non-profit organization, corporation, business or school.

3) Student - Presented to a current High School Junior or Senior who has demonstrated excellence in and a commitment to the fine or performing arts.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Mayor’s Arts Award nominations are open to all residents of Bernards Township and those who work in or for the arts primarily benefiting the residents of Bernards Township.

Nominees for the student award must reside in Bernards Township, but may be attending an institution outside of the Township.

Self-nominations will not be accepted.

Pre-Application Information:

Suggested support materials include: detailed description of nominee’s credentials, resume, biography, examples of artwork, letters of support, business plan for the successful partnership effort, outline of nominee’s successful arts program, description of outreach methods, event bulletins, press/media articles, programs, etc.

Nominations must be received in the office by 4:30 PM on Wednesday, January 30, 2015. Postmarks do not apply.

Awardees will be honored at the Parks & Recreation Department's Annual Township Art Show and Reception held in March at the Somerset County Environmental Education Center. More than one award may be given in any one category, but awards may not necessarily be granted in each category.
