Grants of up to $500,000 to New York nonprofits, with a presence in New York City, for educational projects that address critical challenges within the organization. Priority focus will be given to programs that increase community access to educational and economic opportunities. Two finalists will also receive grants of $25,000.

The types of projects that are best suited to support include (but are not limited to):
- Expansion of impact through strengthening or growing an existing program
- Strategy development or planning guidance
- Analysis of a program model’s scalability
- Development of plans for launching a new program or service
- Cost-benefit analysis of launching a new program or service offering
- Landscape analysis of market opportunities
- Building internal capacity to improve overall operations and outcomes
- Efficiency and cost containment
- Development of human capital strategy and organizational design
- Metrics development and outcomes measurement

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for consideration, organizations must:
- Be registered as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charity
- Focus on improving student outcomes through education and youth development initiatives
- Maintain a local presence in NYC with an established program, track record and leadership team; if organization is based elsewhere, proposed project should be a high priority of national organization but with local team given autonomy to lead implementation
- Have at least a $2 million operating budget with full team in place to execute mission

Grants will not be awarded to:
- Individuals
- Non-operating private foundations
- Religious institutions
- Political campaigns or advocacy efforts
- Capital campaigns, endowments, and events

Pre-Application Information:

A select number of proposals (typically between six-eight) received will be advanced as semi-finalists for consideration by the selection committee. The committee will choose three finalists, which present to a group of the foundation's professionals.

Up to $500,000 over four years ($200,000 in the first year with the potential for an additional $300,000 over the next three years). Two finalists also receive $25,000 each.
