Grant to a Iowa non-profit, business, or other to promote water fluoridation in the State. Questions will be accepted through November 5. Funds will be provided for training, education, and technical assistance to local water system agencies, and outreach to health care personnel and the public regarding the benefits of water fluoridation.
The successful applicant will provide training and continuing education opportunities to water operators and to the (Iowa) Department of Natural Resources (DNR) water supply section and field staff; develop and provide updated informational materials about water fluoridation for water supply professionals and health care providers; promote the benefits of CWF through publications and resources for the public; and establish a statewide CWF risk communication plan.
The successful applicant shall:
• Have knowledge of CWF and related issues.
• Be familiar with CWF practices.
• Have experience developing and implementing education or training programs to a wide variety of audiences.
• Have an established network of key partners and resources which includes broad technical expertise in CWF and water treatment operations.
All trainings and resources developed and distributed must adhere to science-based Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) standards as detailed at:
