Grants typically ranging between $1,000 and $40,000 to Minnesota non-profit organizations serving the Austin area and Mower County to positively impact local communities in the areas of education, income, health, or basic needs. First time applicants are required to submit a letter of Inquiry by December 4.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Any non-profit organization under the Internal Revenue Code of the United States, whether it be a local, state or national organizations, and which renders a significant service to the community of the Austin area and Mower County, Minnesota shall annually be eligible to apply for funds.

In order to be considered for funding such organization shall provide United Way of Mower County, Inc., with appropriate certifications and other documentation showing its continued compliance with the non-profit organization laws, tax exempt status laws and regulations, and charitable organization laws and regulations of the appropriate governmental agencies.

Only organizations that serve local needs will be considered.

Pre-Application Information:

If you are a new program applying for funding YOU MUST submit a Letter of Inquiry to assure that the program fits under one of United Way’s four impact areas (Education, Income, Health, or Basic Needs) and meets other requirements for funding.

Organizations applying through the new program process must submit an on-line application for new program funding no later than December 4, 2014. You will be notified by Dec 12 if your program has been approved for the full grant application. If your program is approved you have until February 5, 2014 to submit your full application.

After December 5, 2014 you may apply for funding through the United Way of Mower County only if you have an existing program through United Way. These grant applications are due to United Way no later than February 5, 2014 at 4:00 PM.

Award notification will occur in April 2014.
