Grant Description
Grants of up to $2,500 to Oregon nonprofit organizations and units of local government for a wide range of publicly accessible arts and cultural projects in eligible locations. Funding is intended to support activities that promote public interest in initiatives related to the humanities, arts, history, and heritage. Grants may be used for programs in Linn County.

The Linn County Cultural Coalition's mission is to promote widespread participation in rich and diverse arts, humanities, and historical heritage activities—activities that promote both community pride and creative expression—throughout Linn County. The Coalition, therefore, strives to distribute these grant funds fairly around the county and among diverse cultural organizations.

The applicant’s project must address one or more of the Linn County Cultural Coalition’s priorities:

  • To enhance funding for arts, heritage, and humanities activities
  • To increase public awareness of, and encourage participation in, cultural opportunities in Linn County
  • To improve access to cultural opportunities for all ages, income levels, abilities, and ethnic groups throughout Linn County

Among qualifying applications, the Linn County Cultural Coalition gives priority to organizations or projects that:

  • Haven’t recently been funded through LCCC.
  • Show evidence of community support (donations of time, money, or both, or letters of support).
  • Allow for free or low-cost participation.
  • Result from cooperation between two or more organizations (independent nonprofits and/or governmental organizations).

  • Others (see text field entitled "Additional Eligibility Criteria" for clarification)

Additional Criteria for Eligibility
The recipient of a Linn County Cultural Coalition grant must be an incorporated nonprofit organization qualifying as tax-exempt under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)3, 501(c)4, 501(c)6, a unit of local government, or an unincorporated group or individual whose application is sponsored by a tax-exempt organization or unit of local government.

Projects that are ineligible for Linn County Cultural Coalition grants include:
- Annual scholarships
