Grants of up to $5,000 to California nonprofit organizations for services and programs to improve the quality of life for residents in eligible regions. Funding is intended to support programs related to human services including but not limited to homeless support services, crisis intervention and/or centers, veterans services, drug abuse prevention services, senior citizens, services for special needs populations, child daycare, health and safety, and youth-serving agencies. Eligible programs are those that benefit residents of the City of Mission Viejo.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

All community not-for-profit organizations meeting the requirements and guidelines specified in the City Council's Community Services Funding Policy may apply for funds.

Pre-proposal Conference:

New Application Orientation/ Agency Roundtable - January 13 - 6 - 8:30 pm - call for details.

Pre-Application Information:

Applications/required materials are due March 1, 2022- 5:00 pm.

Funding / Report cycles:
Applications will be available in January 2022 and due March 1, 2022. Funding will be awarded no later than June 30, 2022 for the program cycle beginning July 1, 2022– June 30, 2023. Two performance reports are required of grant recipients. For program period July 1, 2022 – December 31, 2022, report is due January 31, 2023. For program period January 1, 2023 – June 30, 2023, report is due July 29, 2023.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Allocations are limited to $5,000; however, final funding determinations are made by City Council.

Term of Contract:

Funding will be awarded no later than June 30, 2022 for the program cycle beginning July 1, 2022– June 30, 2023.
