Grants starting at $5,000 to Nevada County, California non-profits, individuals, groups, government agencies, religious organizations, service clubs, community groups and for-profit organizations to support families and promote the healthy development of children ages 0-5. Letters of intent must be submitted by December 3 for consideration.

The First 5 Nevada County Commission has outlined the following priorities for the funding process; it is possible that the Commission may not fund all priorities:

-Parenting support
-Behavioral health care access
-Support for children’s social-emotional development
-Support for the development of children’s school readiness skills
-More exposure to pre-literacy activities
-Support for children’s health and wellness, including dental, obesity prevention, developmental screening, immunization
-Higher quality child care
-Increased service coordination and collaboration
-Bilingual access to services for families

Estimated Size of Grant:

Minimum request size is $5,000.

Term of Contract:

Proposal that are awarded funds will result in contracts that will be in place from July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2017.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Individuals, groups, government agencies, religious organizations, non-profits, service clubs, community groups and for-profit organizations may receive funding from First 5 Nevada County.

Collaborative (Multi-Agency) proposals: A lead agency must be identified; the lead agency will be responsible for the performance of subcontractors and shall sign the contracts.

Pre-Application Information:

The Commission is requesting submission of Letters of Intent to begin the funding process. These letters will be due by 5:00 PM on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 for consideration at a meeting of the Commission on December 17, 2014.

From these letters of intent, the Commission will invite full proposals, which will be due January 20, 2015.

You may submit a Letter of Intent for more than one project.
