Matching grants of $500 and one award of $5,000 to Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan nonprofits for participating in a local fundraising campaign. Applicants must register by November 27, 2017. Priority is given to nonprofits serving the greater Toledo area. The event will take place on November 28, 2017.
#GivingTuesday™ is a national day of giving at the start of the holiday season that celebrates and encourages charitable activities that support nonprofit organizations. Toledo Community Foundation and The Blade have partnered to support local nonprofits in this effort by promoting the program and encouraging donations through a matching grant opportunity.
Organizations that successfully register and participate in the matching grant program will automatically be entered into a random drawing.
Matching funds will be awarded on a first come, first served basis to participating nonprofit organizations, with a maximum award of $500 per organization.
Toledo Community Foundation and The Blade are excited to announce for the second time the availability of a $5,000 award for one area nonprofit organization who participates in #GivingTuesdayNWO. Organizations that successfully register and participate in the matching grant program will automatically be entered into a random drawing.

Grants will only be awarded to nonprofit, charitable organizations which have been designated as having tax exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service code.

Grants will be awarded on a first come, first served basis. Should more funds be available than total grant requests, a secondary process to distribute remaining funds will be instituted.
Only donations received on November 28, 2017 are eligible for the matching grant program.
This matching grant program employs a two-step application process. Both steps must be completed in order to be eligible for funding consideration.
Step One: Registration – Organizations must register their participation in the #GivingTuesdayNWO local campaign through the Toledo Community Foundation website by noon on November 27, 2017. The online registration form (Intent to Participate) can be found in Step 1 for nonprofits at www.toledocf.org/givingtuesday. This step is a mandatory prerequisite for grant eligibility.
Step Two: Application – Proposals of up to $500 will be accepted during a limited window of time from noon on December 6, 2017 through 11:59 p.m. on December 13, 2017 through the Toledo Community Foundation’s online application process. The online application can be accessed via the grants page on the Foundation’s website at www.toledocf.org.
An updated list of registered nonprofit organizations will be uploaded to the Foundation website on November 7, 14 and 21. A final list of registered organizations will be uploaded to the website by 5 p.m. on November 27, 2017.
