Allegany Arts Council (AAC)

Grants of up to $3,500 to Allegany County, Maryland nonprofits to support organizations that produce arts related programming regularly within the local community. Funding may be used towards arts programs, general operations, or capital improvements that help facilitate programming. Programs and events must be open to the general public.
Applications that address the Council's Strategic Goals will be given special consideration:
- Increase awareness of and access to the arts
- Provide a supportive environment for local artists and arts organizations to thrive
- Foster economic vitality through the arts
- Establish the area as an arts destination through Creative Placemaking

Request amount cannot exceed $3,500 or 1/2 of Total Cash Expenses.
The grant is for Activities Occurring between July 1, 2018 and June 30, 2019.
Grantees must be nonprofit (or eligible for IRS tax-exempt status), and based in Allegany County. Out-of-county organizations that produce arts programming in Allegany County may also be eligible. The arts programming must take place in Allegany County.
By-laws must provide that assets do not accrue to any director, officer, or member of the organization.
GOG funds may not be used for fundraising events or social functions.
Programs that proselytize for specific political actions or religious beliefs are not eligible for funding.
Note that this is an Allegany Arts Council policy and that the Maryland State Arts Council does not match capital improvement.
Application Deadline: Friday, June 29, 2018, by 5:00PM.
In order to stimulate rather than replace community support, a 1:1 cash match is required (i.e., GOG grant funding may not exceed 1/2 of the proposed program budget). Funds from the Maryland State Arts Council are not allowed as part of this match. In-kind or donated services are similarly ineligible to be included in the match although they should be identified on the application.
