Deadline Date:

Description:

Request a Grant Writer

Grants ranging from $500 to $5,000 to Minnesota and Wisconsin public and private K-12 schools to improve school music education programs in the St. Croix Valley. Eligible regions include Washington and Chisago counties in Minnesota, and Burnett, Pierce, Polk, and St. Croix counties in Wisconsin.

Grants may provide funds for materials such as sheet music, instruments, and other items; guest artists and instructors; community outreach; concerts; composition; and inter or intra school collaborations.

Grant funds may supplement, but not replace, schools' music education budgets.

SCVF gives preference to hands-on vocal or musical activities over technological innovations.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Grants can range from $500 to $5,000. Proposals may be awarded partial funding.

Term of Contract:

Grant funds must be expended within one year from the date of the award.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible, the applicant must be a public or private school. Nonprofit arts organizations may not apply for a music education grant directly but may work with a school to take the lead. Applicants must have no outstanding final reports due to the St. Croix Valley Foundation for previous music education grants.

Grant funds may not be used for scholarships for individuals, uniforms, staff salaries or expenses already incurred by the applicant.

Pre-Application Information:

Application due date: October 4, 2019 (Application process will open approximately 2 months prior to deadline.)

Applicants may submit more than one proposal to the music education grant program, understanding that the Foundation intends to spread these grants over as wide a geographic area as possible.

An applicant may submit a proposal for another SCVF grant program during the same grant cycle if they are eligible.
