Grant Description
Grants of up to $2,000 to California schools and youth organizations in eligible locations for gardening programs and other projects that teach agriculture to area youth. The purpose of funding is to inspire local youth to pursue agricultural careers and expand their appreciation for agriculture. Applicants must be located in San Diego County.

Applications submitted must focus on San Diego County’s agriculture as defined by: “The science, art and business of producing nursery and food crops, cultivating soil, and raising livestock, eggs, milk or other commodities for sale or personal consumption.”


Additional Eligibility Criteria
San Diego County Schools and youth organizations are eligible to apply.

Items not funded by this award: computers, cameras, salaries, stipends, and field trips.

Pre-Application Information
- All applications must have been submitted or postmarked by November 15, 2023.
- Awards will be announced by February 26, 2024.

Award finalists may receive a visit by the SDAITC Board of Directors prior to final awardee selection. This is your opportunity to personally share your vision, plan & goals for your project. Additionally, awardees must be willing to create a display for future outreach.

Awards range from $500 to $2,000.
