Request a Grant Writer

Grants of up to $3,000 to Wayne County, Nebraska organizations, including for-profit organizations, for projects and programs that aim to promote local tourism. Funding is intended to encourage, promote, and attract visitors to come to the County, and to utilize travel and tourism facilities within the County.

Funding will be provided as follows:

- Single no marketing event: Up to $500
- Potential marketing events (1st-time events): Up to $750
- Minor marketing events (Events with a minimum duration of ½ day): Up to $2,000
- Major marketing events (Events with at least one night’s stay: Up to $3,000

Term of Contract:

Grant recipients need to reapply if the grant is not used within six months of the approval date.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Event Eligibility:

- Except for the City of Wakefield, events must be conducted in Wayne County. Events held on the Dixon County side of the City of Wakefield are eligible for a partial grant.
- The event must bring visitors from at least 30 miles away with overnight dollars being spent in Wayne County.

Money requested for an event may not be used for:

- Purchase or rental of equipment
- Telephone expenses or postage
- Salaries or administrative costs
- Any item not included in the grant application

Note: If the event is sponsored by a for-profit organization, a receipt proving that 10% of the net proceeds were donated to the host community must be included with the reimbursement request.

Pre-Application Information:

Grant applications will be considered quarterly. The request must be submitted prior to the event. The application deadline for the January meeting is December 31, the deadline for the April meeting is March 31, the deadline for the July meeting is June 30, and the deadline for the October meeting is September 30. The funding request will be reviewed based on the cost estimates submitted.

Note: This is a reimbursement grant. You will be reimbursed 3-4 weeks after final documentation has been received.
