Awards of $5,000 to four San Joaquin County, California math and science high-school teachers for dedication, leadership, passion for teaching, and other traits of excellence. The purpose of the award program is to recognize those teachers who make a difference in the lives of area students.
Two math teachers and two science teachers who motivate students to excel, support students in their academic pursuits both in and outside of the classroom, provide leadership in curricular and co-curricular events and encourage students to pursue a career in mathematics and/or science will be recognized.
Recipients will receive a $5,000 cash award, to use as he or she wishes. The school in which the recipient teaches will also receive a cash award of $5,000, to be used for the enhancement of its program.
