Grants to Ontario nonprofit organizations and registered charities for projects that benefit women and girls in eligible regions. Funding is intended for local service projects that strengthen and support female children and adults. Grants are awarded in the Spring and Fall for activities that focus on empowering girls and women. Projects must benefit girls and women in the Kitchener-Waterloo community.

The Zonta Club of Kitchener-Waterloo is a local district of an international organization of professional women working together to advance the status of women locally and worldwide through service and advocacy. Zonta International, its districts, and its clubs are nonsectarian and nonpartisan. 

​​Throughout the year, the Zonta Club of Kitchener-Waterloo organizes events that are interesting and fun.  The funds raised from these events are used to support projects that empower women and girls locally.

Spring Grant Cycle 2020:

  • Grants to be awarded from the Zonta Club International Film Festival Funds in the Spring of 2020.

Fall Grant Cycle:

  • Grants to be awarded from the Zonta Club Betty Thompson Golf Classic Funds in the Fall of 2020.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Not for profit and charitable organizations in Kitchener Waterloo, with local projects that support and empower women and girls, are encouraged to apply for a grant.

Organizations which are eligible for grants are ones which:
- Provide services that benefit women in the Kitchener-Waterloo community
- Make services available without discrimination as described by the Ontario Human Rights Code
- Issue an annual report which includes financial statements
- Complete the Zonta Club's grant application with a full outline, including projected costs, of the project for which the grant is being requested
- Undertake to provide a full report on the project when it is completed, if requested

Grants will not be provided for:
- Professional growth opportunities for staff of the organization unless specifically related to the proposal
- Ongoing administration costs of an organization
