Grants of up to $50,000 to California nonprofit organizations for health, human services, and military and veteran support programs in the San Diego community. In order to be eligible to apply, an organization’s project must meet at least one of the following three criteria: it is a bold new endeavor, it addresses a critical or urgent need, or it offers new approaches to existing problems.

The prospective program or project should be a successful answer to a significant problem in one of the designated focus areas for the 2019-2020 Grant Year. The connection to the focus area(s) should be clear and identifiable.  In addition, please provide estimated results along with provable metrics as to how you envision accomplishing these outcomes.

The three Focus areas for this cycle are:

  1. Military, Veterans and their families
  2. Social and Human Services -- including human trafficking, poverty, and housing/shelter/homelessness
  3. Health-related Issues -- including mental health, addiction, disease disorders, chronic illness, disabilities, and the use of animals for therapy
