Grants to California local government agencies to support local boating safety and related law enforcement activities. Applicants are highly encouraged to attend the February 15 information session. Applications are invited from agencies demonstrating a need for boating safety and law enforcement equipment.

In accordance with Title 14, 6594.1, of the California Government Code of Regulations, California State Parks Division of Boating and Waterways (DBW) provides grants to local government agencies to purchase boating safety and law enforcement equipment through the Law Enforcement Equipment Grant Program.

Examples of Allowable Marine Patrol Enforcement Equipment:
-Law Enforcement Patrol Boats
-Marine Patrol Equipment
-Personal Watercraft (PWC)
-Search and Rescue Equipment
-Dive Gear
-Engines, repowers and replacements

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Eligible applicants are local government agencies who can demonstrate a need for boating safety and law enforcement equipment pursuant to the application assessment criteria.

Pre-proposal Conference:

DBW will conduct OLGA training sessions for new and returning users. It is highly recommended that a representative from your agency attend the one-day in house training.

Training will be held February 15th, 2018, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Please submit your RSVP by February 2nd via email to Joanna Andrade (see contact details below).

Pre-Application Information:

Agencies interested in applying for a grant must submit a completed application packet between February 1st and April 30th of each year by 5:00 PM, prior to the start of the fiscal year in which grant funds are requested. You may submit applications via Online Grant Application (OLGA) only.
