Awards of $1,000 and an award of $5,000 to Jackson County, Michigan K-12 teachers to recognize their hard work and dedication to local youth. Funding is intended for professional development or classroom use. The Foundation seeks to honor innovative educators who go above and beyond to make a difference in their students' lives.

Each year, five teachers are selected as the year’s Top Teachers, and one of those is selected as the Teacher of the Year.

Estimated Size of Grant:

The Teacher of the Year receives $5,000; the four Top Teachers each receive a $1,000 grant.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

- K-12 teacher, who works in Jackson County
- A minimum of five years of classroom experience
- Works full-time

The nomination deadline for Top Teacher is October 18, 2019.

Top Teachers will be announced in the May issue of the magazine.
