Grants typically ranging from $200 to $1,500 to Folsom, California nonprofit organizations and public schools for projects that broaden an appreciation for horticulture and gardening. Funding is intended to promote horticulture-based educational programs and to support the beautification of public and historic properties. Programs should benefit and educate the city of Folsom. Eligible requests include garden materials, plants, landscaping, and written materials.

Folsom Garden Club is dedicated to spreading the knowledge and love of gardening and horticulture, the support of education in horticultural and related fields and the beautification of public and/or historic property.

Evaluation criteria:
- The botanical, horticultural, historic, and/or educational interest of the project.
- The community impact of the project: The project location, public access, and interest, etc.
- The planning, future maintenance and/or monitoring of the project: How it was developed and how it will be executed and maintained.
- Funding history and plans: Other sources of funds, current budget, and goals for future funding.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Grants normally range from $200 to $1,500; however, the Grants Committee will consider and evaluate requests for other amounts.

Term of Contract:

Grants are awarded once a year in November. Projects must have use for funds for the stated purpose within 12 months of receipt.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Folsom Garden Club provides charitable funding to non-profit organizations serving the city of Folsom, California. Eligible organizations are those classified as 501(c)(3) or defined by the IRS as eligible entities that provide charitable services to their community such as public schools.

Applications will be not be given consideration if they:
- Support political, sectarian or religious programs.
- Cover existing obligations, continuing operating support, debt, liabilities or administrative salaries.
- Entail continued funding of previous requests. (If you submitted a prior grant you can submit again but you must prepare it as a new grant request.)
- Require funding before the annual allocation date.
- Are for projects that serve only a few people.
- Are submitted after the stated deadline.

Pre-Application Information:

If submitting an application by email it must be received by Tuesday, October 15, 2019. If mailing it must be postmarked no later than Saturday, October 12, 2019, to reach the Folsom Garden club by October 15.

Grants will be awarded in November of 2019 and notification will occur no later than November 30, 2019.
