Request a Grant Writer

Grants of $55,000 to Florida nonprofit organizations in eligible counties to enhance the quality of life for local residents. Applicants are required to submit a Letter of Interest prior to the full proposal. Funding is intended to support programs and projects in the areas of educational attainment, community revitalization, and youth development that benefit residents in need in Palm Beach and Martin Counties

Funding will be provided in two categories:

  • Mini-grants
    • For newer organizations or those who have an annual budget of $250,000 or less
  • Community Impact

The request must be for a new program/project or an expansion of an existing one.

The Foundation facilitates philanthropic support to improve quality of life for local residents in need and focus on three priority issue areas:

Community Revitalization 

  • Definition: Improvements in economic, physical infrastructure, health and social conditions for distressed neighborhoods.

Educational Attainment 

  • Definition: Supplemental support for the academic achievement of students in pre-kindergarten through high school, support for low-income and first-generation students entering college and vocational programs, and adult workforce development programs leading to education beyond a high school diploma.

Positive Youth Development

  • Definition: Positive youth development is an intentional, pro-social approach that engages youth in a manner that is productive and constructive; recognizes, utilizes, and enhances youths’ strengths; and promotes positive outcomes for young people by providing opportunities, fostering positive relationships, and furnishing the support needed to build on their leadership strengths (The Federal Interagency Working Group on Youth Programs.)

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The Foundation will consider requests from charitable organizations that are tax exempt under Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 501(c)(3) organization and public charities under IRS Section 509 (a). Organizations operating under a fiscal sponsor with tax exempt status under IRS Section 501(c)(3) may also be considered.

The Foundation will only consider requests from organizations located within Palm Beach and Martin Counties or that directly benefit residents of Palm Beach and Martin Counties.

The Foundation will not consider competitive grant requests for any of the following:
- Annual appeal
- Capital campaigns or capital projects
- Deficit financing
- For-profit, parochial, charter, private, or individual public schools
- Fundraising event
- Open space purchase
- Nonprofit endowments
- Requests for a specific individual
- Requests to support religious or political causes, or to organizations organized for religious or political purposes
