Grants of up to $5,000 to Michigan nonprofit organizations for programs to benefit young people in eligible regions. Grants of up to $3,000 may be requested to provide scholarships to local youth for program participation. The purpose of the program is to assist young people to overcome financial, social, physical, emotional, or cultural challenges. Eligible organizations are located in Washtenaw County.

The Rotary Club of Ann Arbor is pleased to announce its 2021 Community Grant Program, focusing on Helping Kids Succeed. Preference will be given to applications that address the Club's three goals within Washtenaw County (and keeping in mind your ongoing needs due to COVID-19):

  • Helping children of all ages in the area to grow educationally and socially.
  • Helping young adults learn skills required to succeed in later life.
  • Providing support services for at-risk children.

Estimated Size of Grant:

The Committee grants up to $5,000 for a program or $3,000 for scholarships to each selected organization.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The Rotary Club of Ann Arbor annually solicits applications from Washtenaw County not-for-profit organizations whose purpose aligns with the theme “Helping Kids Succeed.”

Agencies who received funding from the Rotary Club of Ann Arbor in both 2020 and 2021 are not eligible for funding in 2022 but will be eligible again in 2023.

The Club does not fund:
- Projects sponsored by groups or individuals that are not a registered non-profit.
- Projects that are funded primarily by government agencies or organizations.
- International projects having no relationship with a local Rotary Club or an organization recognized by Rotary International.

Fundraising events will not be considered.

Pre-Application Information:

Applications must be received on or before midnight Sunday, February 20, 2022.

Decisions on grants will be sent to applicants by the end of April.

Organizations are eligible to apply for both funding opportunities.
