Grants of up to $5,000 to Washington individuals, business owners, and community groups for projects to benefit the environment and the community in eligible locations. Preference will be given to new applicants, new projects, and initiatives addressing the funding source's focus areas. Funding is intended to benefit the City of Shoreline.

The City of Shoreline offers grants for projects that enhance the environment and promote environmental stewardship in the community. Projects must occur in areas deemed for public use.

Projects with the following attributes are preferred:

  • Project addresses one of the following priority areas of focus:
    • Work Towards a Zero Waste Shoreline
    • Support Reduction of Greenhouse Gas Emissions
    • Protect Our Natural Environment
  • New grant recipient (organization has not previously received funding from this program)
  • New project (project was not previously funded by this program)
  • Project features an active partnership with a Shoreline organization (community organization, school, neighborhood association, business, etc.)

Pre-Application Information:

The deadline for applications for the 2021 funding cycle has been extended to 5:00 pm on Monday, February 8, 2021.

Projects in a park will require approval from the Parks Department.

One award per group/individual per year.

Please note that grants are typically provided on a reimbursement basis (i.e. you are reimbursed for funds spent on approved grant activities).

Matching funds or volunteer hours are required for at least 20% of eligible project expenses.
