Rancho de los Peñasquitos Town Council (RPTC)
Grants of up to $500 and grants of up to $300 to Rancho Peñasquitos, California organizations and individuals for projects and events that benefit the local community. Funding is intended for projects in the areas of environment, arts and culture, education, and community leadership.
The following are examples of what the Town Council will consider:
Community Leadership: People-to-people activities that promote participation among residents within the community's neighborhoods; projects that promote cultural tolerance, harmony and understanding; and projects that develop leaders among youth and adult residents by providing a forum for public discourse.
Education: Projects that promote the growth and development of youth in academics; and projects that assist organizations in representing youth in academic competitions within the city of San Diego as well as the state of California.
Arts and Culture: Projects that promote the growth and development of residents in the areas of music and art; projects that develop an appreciation among residents of music and art from diverse cultures; and projects whose goals are to enlighten and educate as well as entertain through local exhibits and performances.
Environment: Projects that promote residents’ participation in keeping the community free from air, water and noise pollution, graffiti and vandalism; and projects that educate residents about preserving and protecting the exploitation of natural resources and open spaces.

Individual grants will normally not exceed $300 and organizational grants will normally not exceed $500.
The grants are annual.
Community Service Grants are available to individuals and organizations for activities and projects that promote the interests or provide community service to Rancho Peñasquitos
Under no circumstances will grants be made for political, sectarian or partisan purposes.
Grant applications are accepted on a continuing basis. All applications will be reviewed for consideration on a quarterly basis. The Grants Committee meets on a quarterly basis on the first Thursday of March, June, September, and December. Only completed applications received through the online portal at least one week before the scheduled Grant Committee meeting will be considered. The next upcoming deadline is February 22, 2018.
You will receive a confirmation email from the Grants Committee after submitting your application.
One week before the Grants Committee meeting, applicants will be contacted via email and invited to make a verbal presentation and answer questions proposed by the Grants Committee. Presentations are limited to five minutes and should (at the minimum) clearly detail the proposed use of the grant, the project budget, other sources of funding, and how the grant will benefit the PQ community.
Matching Funds: Except in extraordinary cases, grants will not be awarded unless the applicant can demonstrate the ability to match the requested level of funding from other sources.
