Request a Grant Writer

Grants ranging from $500 to $3,000 to Hartford Area, Connecticut nonprofit organizations for summertime recreation and education programs. Programs should have educational value, provide recreational activities, and reach children who otherwise may not have the opportunities to fill their free summer hours.

The fund will consider applications from organizations in Andover, Avon, Bloomfield, Bolton, Canton, Cromwell, East Granby, East Hartford, East Windsor, Ellington, Enfield, Farmington, Glastonbury, Granby, Hartford, Hebron, Manchester, Marlborough, Middletown, New Britain, Newington, Rocky Hill, Simsbury, Somers, South Windsor, Suffield, Tolland, Vernon, West Hartford, Wethersfield, Windsor, and Windsor Locks.

Policies of The Fund for Greater Hartford do not allow funding of:
-Organizations that are not tax-exempt under IRS Code section 501(c)(3)
-Organizations that have the IRS Private Foundation designation
-Individuals
-Endowment funds
-Religious institutions, other than for their provision of nonsectarian community services
-Capital projects related to the arts
-Performances, conferences, trips, one-time events
-Annual campaigns

Pre-Application Information:

Applications are due by 3:00 PM, March 1. Applicants will receive responses by the end of March.
