Grants of up to $2,000 to Cherokee County, Kansas students enrolled at USA colleges, universities, and vocational and technical institutions to support studies that facilitate economic self-sufficiency. Funding is intended for childcare, uniforms, equipment, tools, tuition expenses, books, testing, graduation fees, and transport (estimated cost of gas and parking). Grants may be awarded for academic or technical courses.
The purpose of the Non-Traditional Grant-In-Aid Fund is to provide financial assistance to individuals whose education has been interrupted and who find it necessary to return to school to support themselves and where applicable, their families.

The type and amount of aid shall be at the discretion of the Board of Directors of the Community Foundation and may include, but is not necessarily limited to a maximum of $1,000 per year for two years. Lesser amounts may be awarded according to individual needs and available funds.
Grants are available for up to two years.
